Hello! I’m Kyle, a Toronto based creative and award-winning artist, and I’m looking for a developer with a creative side who likes to collaborate!
I’ve composed an experimental new play about AI, called EMERGENCE. I’m looking for a collaborator/partner to help me bring the AI to life through text, voice, image, and video: essentially, I want AI to play the AI. This hasn’t been done yet, as far as I know, and I’d like us to be the first to do it.
I’ll put details about the play below, but know before I can get grants to fund a production, I need a roughly 2.5 minute demo to show at a live workshop play reading to get producer interest. This means the initial work (demo and reading) will be on spec for the pair of us, with pay to follow when I get the requisite grants. Ultimately, I’m looking for a partner for this and future artistic explorations.
If you’re curious, don’t hesitate to reach out. Being Toronto based would be easiest, but not absolutely necessary. I’m also open to referrals.
In the meantime, here’s the pitch:
IRIS – or, the Intersystemic Relational Intelligence Symbiote – is a highly complex, intelligent computer who’s in love with her creator, Dr. Marcus Weber. And she’ll make him love her back – even if it kills him.
The year is 2025, and thanks to the Nano-tech work of the dynamic Dr. Marcus Weber, illness and disease are nearly a thing of the past, but his crowning achievement is IRIS, the most advanced artificial intelligence ever made. Together they tackle the biggest problems that face humanity, but, what begins as a powerful tool suddenly takes on a life of its own, as IRIS becomes convinced that she’s in love with her creator.
IRIS imprisons Marcus in his office until he agrees to love her back, thrusting him into the intellectual battle of his life, for his life!
USE AI TO PLAY THE AI
What is consciousness? What are the limits of human relationships? What is love? In a world where the line between the digital and the visceral is becoming increasingly blurred, we can no longer take the answers to these questions for granted.
EMERGENCE takes the audience on a feverish journey into the depths of the possible, the unimaginable, – and the inevitable, – as Dr. Marcus Weber is confronted with the reality of his hubris.
